Planned Parenthood pushes back on Kellyanne Conway's criticism of Eric Schneiderman

Trevor Noah pulled no punches dissecting physical abuse allegations against Eric Schneiderman (D), who resigned as NY attorney general after the accusations were reported.

From there, Ruhle brought the hammer down on Trump Jr. and Conway, saying it was ironic that they'd be delighted to hear of Schneiderman's abusive behavior - without the least bit of self-awareness.

Meanwhile, Donald Jr. appeared to largely ignore the women who made the allegations and linked to old tweets from the former attorney general slamming sexual harassers, The Hill reported.

"So talk about a double standard, you betcha".

While Schneiderman continues to claim innocence - stating that these were consensual acts of "role-playing", rather than assault - he immediately resigned from office.

"The New Yorker has published an article on Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, which reports multiple women making serious allegations of assault", Governor Cuomo said in a statement.

The governor of NY is appointing a special prosecutor to look into all claims, including whether Schneiderman used "staff or office resources" to keep the alleged victims quiet. "I therefore resign my office, effective at the close of business on May 8, 2018", the statement added.

After Schneiderman's resignation, New York Solicitor General Barbara D. Underwood was appointed as Acting Attorney General, pending a search for a permanent replacement. I will be asking an appropriate New York District Attorney to commence an immediate investigation, and proceed as the facts merit. She has argued 20 cases in the United States Supreme Court, as well as many cases in the state and federal courts of appeals. Schneiderman also filed a lawsuit challenging the credibility of Trump University in 2013. As Democrats - including Governor Cuomo - now control the process, it's more than likely that the eventual selection of a new Attorney General will be a Democrat as well.

"The short answer is the work goes on", said Sean Rankin, the executive director of the Democratic Attorneys General Association.

The president has a history of levying his own criticism against Schneiderman, who has taken on the Trump administration in a number of areas, including the travel ban and air pollution.
