'Rage 2' officially revealed with new trailer

Expect to see even more of the game at E3 2018. (Dead Island, anyone?) The original Rage was a pretty typically desolate landscape, but still had a goofy charm to it, so perhaps they really are pursuing a more accessible, colorful vibe this go-around. Yes, a sequel to id Software's RPG/shooter hybrid from 2010. And one of the games which appeared on this list was Rage 2. What consoles the game will be for, as well as any kind of release window, were not revealed, but the trailer promises a reveal of the gameplay tomorrow, May 15.

Fortunately, we won't have to wait for a long time to see if the announcement is coming or not. I certainly didn't think Rage would be revived seven years later.

Depending on launch timing, "Rage 2" could be entering a first-person shooter arena that contains late 2018 releases "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4" and "Battlefield 1" as well as wild west epic "Red Dead Redemption 2". There will be guns, people in Mad Max-inspired costumes, and definitely a lot of killing. The title will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2019.

After an asteroid impact leaves Earth and human civilization in ruins, a soldier by the name of Nicholas Raine emerges from an underground shelter after being put into cyrogenic sleep. Well, it looks like you'll still fight creepy mutants out in the wasteland with your "wingstick," AKA a bladed boomerang. Players also have access to their own vehicle that can be customized and pitted against foes in combat or racing.

Video game stories from other sites on the web. It was the final Id game that was made under the supervision of industry legend John Carmack.

Explanatory announcement from Bethesda Softworks did not happen. We do know that the bladed boomerang will return. Beyond that, we now know very little, but Bethesda will surely give Rage 2 a big unveiling at this year's E3 Show in Los Angeles in June. First recorded on Walmart Canada, the game will likely soon be officially shown on May 14.

A new Splinter Cell, the next Gears of War, Forza, Borderlands, Final Fantasy VII Remake. Obviously, Bethesda hasn't exactly denied the leak, and has now started a little campaign of their own. The tweet reads: "C:\Desktop\Videos\AnnounceTrailer\Monday". In the event Bethesda takes down the trailer from YouTube, Gematsu has a backup posted here.

Finally on May 12, Bethesda teased a reveal on May 14 with yet another image using the same pink color.
