Rudy Giuliani booed at Yankee Stadium on his birthday

When the announcer revealed it was Giuliani's birthday, the crowd was, um, not exactly supportive.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was met with "boos" rather than "happy birthday" chants at Yankee Stadium on Monday. Fans did not share the sentiment, the New York Daily News noted, as Giuliani was greeted with a chorus of boos from the Yankees faithful.

Rudy Giuliani didn't have the best birthday on Monday.

"They're giving us the material to do it".

But he may be more known now for his role as a lawyer for President Trump, advising the president on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. When the stadium announced the former mayor was celebrating at the stadium, by all accounts, it... didn't go as planned. Giuliani was also brought on to arrange a possible interview between Trump and Mueller, as a final step. Word of the reaction from the Yankees fans spread quickly across social media, with many of Giuliani's critics taking the opportunity to gloat.

He was mayor of NY from 1994 to 2001, so he's known to residents in that city.

The Yankees lost to the Astros, 5-1.
