Following the initial fallout of her racist tweet, Roseanne co-stars Sara Gilbert, who played Darlene and heralded the new iteration of the show to the air, and Michael Fishman, who played DJ, denounced Barr's actions. I have always lived and taught my children to be inclusive.

"It's a joke", she wrote in response to a CNN reporter.

"He wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling the show", Jarrett said in an interview on MSNBC. Barr only recently returned to Twitter after taking a break from the social media site following a December feud with people who responded harshly to her tweets praising President Trump and criticizing Hillary Clinton. As of Wednesday morning, there were 98,400 tweets about the sedative.

Streaming network Hulu also announced that it will be pulling Roseanne from its service in support of ABC, which also scrapped its "For Your Consideration" Emmy campaign for the series, which had been its No. 1 show this season.

In a tweet that appears to have been since deleted, Barr wrote, "Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. Another tweet asked her followers not to "start all that boycott abc stuff" and said "it" all okay".

She later followed that tweet by stating "Muslims r NOT a race" and "ISLAM is not a RACE, lefties".

The comic later apologized, saying she would be "leaving twitter" indefinitely. But much of its progress would have been threatened if it looked the other way at Barr's tweet. She said of the Jarrett tweet, "It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting".

The White House on Tuesday suggested that Trump would refrain from commenting on the cancellation of Roseanne's show, as he was purportedly busy preparing for the North Korea summit that may happen next month. "Hear me out: just because Roseanne is gone, doesn't mean the whole show has to go. Maybe I just didn't get the call?'"

"I am hurt, embarrassed, and disappointed". Sadly, this is not the first racist outburst by Roseanne. She wrote of Sykes, "her tweet made ABC very nervous and they cancelled the show".
