Fakhar Zaman broke the record for the most number of runs for Pakistan in a bilateral one-day worldwide series when he scored 85 against Zimbabwe in the fifth ODI in Bulawayo.

Fakhar achieved the record in the fifth and final ODI match against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo, when he scored 20 runs to attain the feat.

The opener has bettered Windies great Sir Vivian Richards, England's Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott, compatriot Babar Azam and South Africa's Quinton de Kock, who reached 1,000 runs in 18 knocks.

In the last match, he also became the quickest batsman to get to 1000 ODI runs.

All the above mentioned batting greats reached the milestone in their 21st innings but Fakhar Zaman bettered them all by getting there in his 18th innings.

Fakhar shared a record opening stand of 304 with fellow left-hander Imam ul-Haq, who hit 113 off 122 balls.

With that, Pakistan featured in yet another record of five-match series clean sweep; this is, therefore, Pakistan's 7th five match white wash in one day cricket.

Azam then took charge and scored at a brisk pace as Pakistan clobbered 44 runs in the last three overs.

Zaman's unbeaten 210 off 156 balls guided Pakistan to their highest ODI total of 399-1 after Pakistan won their first toss of the series and elected to bat overnight on Friday.

Zaman also broke the record for most runs between dismissals in ODIs, with 455, passing the 405 set by another Pakistani, Mohammad Yousuf, also against Zimbabwe, in 2002-3.

Imam-ul-Haq brings up his third of the series!

While Fakhar's batting exploits have been the talk of the series and rightly so, it is easy to forget that his opening partner has had a stellar time as well.

When will the 5th ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe start? But Prince Masvaure and Ryan Murray adopted a similar approach as they were content on batting out the overs, finding the odd boundary whenever a loose delivery was bowled.
