Jose Mourinho declines to answer Manchester United title questions

Manchester United have wobbled during the pre-season so far and some fans are questioning Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United coach José Mourinho wants Paul Pogba to play at the same level for Manchester United that he did for France during the World Cup.

One position Mourinho says he is not looking to strengthen before the August 9 deadline is right-back, despite an injury to Antonio Valencia.

Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Marouane Fellaini and Romelu Lukaku are likely to miss the start of the season after reaching the semifinals and Mourinho admits he is anxious ahead of their opening clashes against Leicester and Brighton next month.

"The most important thing to him [Mourinho], I think, is results, he'll be judged on that".

United were runners-up to Manchester City last season, finishing 19 points behind the champions, and lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup final. If our players are interesting a lot of clubs it is because we made good recruitment and work in our training sessions.

"Knowing Anthony the way I know him I think if you can get the best out of him, he's up there ability-wise with the best in the league".

However, Mourinho finds himself short of options on the right side of defence following an injury to United skipper Antonio Valencia in the pre-season friendly against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

"The first match of the season is against Leicester and the second one is against Brighton", Mourinho said.

The 25-year-old's stock rose considerably following impressive performances for England at the World Cup. But I think it's how do you get the best out of him?

"So of course against Leicester and Brighton the situation is not wonderful for us. we will have to fight for the points with the players we have available".

He added: "I don't know".
