According to USA Today, the player has a front row pew at Detroit's Greater Grace Temple for Franklin's final service on August 31.

Who's performing: An all-star lineup that includes Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Fantasia, Shirley Caesar and many more will perform at Aretha Franklin's funeral on Friday morning. A pink Cadillac, as referenced in her song, "Freeway of Love", was on display outside the museum in tribute.

'This is a real life that has been lived, that a person regardless of how famous she became no matter how many people she touched around the world'.

Thomas first became friends with Franklin, a life-long Detroit resident, after he joined the Pistons in the 1980s.

The star gave her final performance last November at a gala in NY held in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation.

"I think she's wonderful and I know that the spirit of God that's in her is what brought all of us here".

'We saw all of our other close friends go, ' Robinson said.

"There are some girls who haven't been born yet. who will be inspired by Aretha", he said.

The world will get one last time to bid the Queen of Soul farewell.

Sabrina Owens, Franklin's niece, said she started putting thoughts to paper about events earlier this year as her aunt's health failed.

The iconic singer, who died earlier this month of pancreatic cancer at 76, received almost every major award one could receive during her lifetime.
