First poster for Disney's "Aladdin" live-action movie teases Genie's arrival

I'm still not fully sold on the live-action aspect, but if anyone has the budget to pull it off, it's surely Disney.

Tonight during Thursday Night Football, Disney released the live-action Aladdin trailer. And of course, the sounds: the tunes of "Arabian Nights" and "Friend Like Me", both of which we look forward to hearing in full in this new version of the tale.

Story-wise, we understand Ritchie will be directing from a script penned by John August, and with the marketing campaign now officially underway, it won't be too long before Disney begins to bring us more intel on what exactly they've got planned.

Smith's caption on Instagram reads: "LEMME OUT!"

As nearly everyone knows, Genie has been trapped inside the lamp for thousands of years, but once the street-rat-turned-phony-prince Aladdin rubs its side, Genie is finally free.

Smith voices Genie, the comical blue Jinn who grants three wishes to whoever possesses his magical lamp. With nothing else to go on, I'm not sure if I'm excited for not, but I would like to see Will Smith acting all insane as the Genie.

The full film is due out May 24, 2019 internationally. Just underneath, there's a tagline that reads, "Choose wisely". It's being directed by Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie.

The new "Aladdin" film also stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, according to IMDb.
