Google have known all year that they were going to use a notch and have seen how well many other companies have implemented the hiding of the notch and instead Google opt to not just remove the notch but make that part of the display useless. When Nexus and the first generation of Pixel devices were launched, Google stated that it will provide Android version updates for the next two years while these devices will the security fixes for three years.

Signaling its ambitions to carve out a niche for itself in the hardware field, Google on Tuesday unveiled two new Pixel smartphones that boast enhanced artificial intelligence-driven features.

Google made the Pixel 3 beautifully thin, but unfortunately, it also made the Pixel 3 a glass-backed phone, and glass-backed phones need cases before they face the concrete jungles of the real world.

Both new Pixel 3 phones have a gorgeous, two-tone glass back. With Google's hardware announcements this week, the fall unveiling season is nearly over. The tablet works with the Android Camera App which makes the quality of the pictures just a little better. Some of the new features will be made available immediately, while some Pixel 3 features will be rolled out to the old Pixel phones a few months later.

As per Android Central, new Pixel phones were rumoured to focus on gesture navigation, bar the centre "pill" and a back button, which only appears when necessary.

This takes the Google Home smart speaker and gives it a screen but, unlike Facebook's Portal, no camera.

Unlike the original Pixel and the Pixel 2, the Pixel 3 has wireless charging.

Here they are: the $US800 Google Pixel 3 and $US900 Pixel 3 XL.

The Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch OLED display, while the Pixel 3 XL has a 6.3-inch OLED screen. There's not one, but two 8-megapixel front-facing snappers this time around.

The Pixel 2 was a slender device with a thickness of 7.8mm compared to the Pixel 3's 7.9mm waist, which admittedly cost it its headphone jack and any potential of expandable storage. Google declined to address that further Tuesday, though executives emphasized privacy and security throughout the event in NY. Call Screen will first verify if a call is spam before handing it over to you. Having introduced the Home Mini and the Home Max past year, 2018's event saw the introduction of the new Google Home Hub.

Top shot is like Motion Photos or Apple's Live Photo, but more useful.

For photography enthusiasts, the Pixel 3 is undeniably the way to go.

Among other things, Pixel 3 can answer phone calls on its own, inquire about the nature of the call, and inform the user through text (this feature will be available initially only on devices that will be released in the US).
