Khashoggi murder SHOCK: Journalist was STRANGLED as he entered embassy

The statement from Irfan Fidan, the chief Istanbul prosecutor, is the first official confirmation from Turkey that the journalist's body was cut to pieces after he was killed in a premeditated operation on October 2.

Fidan said Mojeb's visit produced "no concrete results...despite all our well-intentioned efforts to reveal the truth".

Turkey is also calling for Saudi Arabia to reveal where the location of Khashoggi's body, with Riyadh claiming a local disposed of his remains.

President Tayyip Recep Erdogan has called for Saudi Arabia to disclose identity of an alleged local collaborator.

Under mounting pressure, the Saudi regime changed its narrative about Khashoggi's killing several times.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman publicly denounced the murder as "repulsive" and Saudi has promised a full investigation into his death, US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said on Sunday following talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir in Bahrain.

Turkish officials were in "a deep distrust" toward Al Mojeb as he refused to answer questions regarding the place where Khashoggi's body is, according to the Turkish daily.

"Then it should take decisive action to impose sanctions on those responsible - including, if the available evidence points to him, Mohammed bin Salman - and reshape USA relations with Saudi Arabia", said the board.

A well-known critic of the Saudi authorities, the journalist Jamal Khashoggi went missing on 2 October.

Saudi Arabia has not commented on the meeting.

It said it has arrested 18 suspects, who will be prosecuted in Saudi Arabia.

"The killing, the murder of Jamal Khashoggi in the consulate in Turkey violates the norms of global law".

Khashoggi, a 59-year-old columnist for The Washington Post, vanished after entering the consulate in Istanbul to pick up paperwork for his upcoming marriage to his fiancee, who was waiting for him outside.

But after weeks of Turkish officials continually leaking details suggesting a murder, Saudi Arabia's public prosecutor, Saud al-Mojeb, last week acknowledged the evidence suggested the killing was most likely premeditated.

The murder of the Washington Post columnist and USA resident, Khashoggi spiralled into a crisis for Saudi Arabia.
