Inter Milan will host Barcelona on Tuesday night knowing they are both overwhelming favourites to qualify from Group B. With group rivals Tottenham nearly out of contention with just one point so far against their name, Inter (six points) and Barca (nine) are odds-on to reach the Champions League knockout stages at Spurs' expense.

The hosts will be hoping to draw level with Ernesto Valverde's men with a win at the San Siro.

German magazine Der Spiegel and a network of global media reported last week that plans for a Super League, involving clubs such as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United were back on the table. It was a top match and very intense, with lots of tackles. The Catalans dispatched the Nerazzurri by a 2-0 score a fortnight ago and such a result would be enough for them to seal qualification into the knockout rounds with two matches to play. They passed the ball around really well.

But the 21-year-old was handed his first Champions League outing for the club at the San Siro, scoring just two minutes after coming on for Ousmane Dembele.

At the back, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique, Clement Langlet and Jordi Alba are all likely to start.

Does FC Barcelona's ideal UEFA Champions League record represent something more substantive than a hot start? The midfield unit is pretty settled, with Arthur cementing his place in the first-team setup.

Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets and Arthur are expected to make up the midfield.

Together they ruled the world at Barcelona - but Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists he has never thought about reuniting with Lionel Messi. The visitors still almost managed to win the match when substitute Malcom netted with seven minutes remaining, moments after coming off the bench. The final spot in the side should go to the captain, Messi. The Argentinean attacker has travelled with the squad, despite not being past fit by the medical team.
