United's victory means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer notched up a personal record of winning his first six matches in charge at Old Trafford, but today's victory for his side has had huge ramifications at the top of the table.

Kane and Son have scored 22 goals between them this season and, without them, Tottenham look short of goals, especially with Spaniard Fernando Llorente struggling for form.

Following the win over Spurs, Pogba conducted an interview with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp and explained why he's improved so much since Mourinho's departure.

However senior FA insiders refused to be drawn into any sense of panic on Sunday, and sources close to Southgate, 48, said they could not see him walking out on the national team after reaching last year's World Cup semi-final, and given the prospect of a 2020 European Championship that could see England play most of their games at Wembley.

"I'm enjoying playing football", he began.

"But where [I'm playing now] with the team, we attack and I think my position there is where I feel most comfortable".

"That's what the manager [Solskjaer] told me to do; run, get in the box, because you will score goals if you get in the box".

"My best example is Frank Lampard".

That comment may raise a few eyebrows.

Pogba's performances have been transformed since Mourinho was sacked last month.

It seems we can file that story under the "nonsense" category. The 45-year-old was initially brought in to steady the ship after a tumultuous spell under Mourinho and he has been able to get the best out of Pogba having worked with the World Cup victor when he was reserve team coach at Old Trafford between 2008 and 2010. They had chances but we defended well and got the three points.

Redknapp then asked Pogba if having Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera in deeper positions behind him in midfield has allowed him to flourish. "I'm not going to talk about [a battle with Solskjaer]".
