You can grab Apex Legends for free on Origin, or the Xbox One or PS4 stores. This game has been developed by Respawn Entertainment, of Titanfall fame. Instead, you'll choose from a group of Legends (the heroes of this title), each with their own specific skills and weapons.

The biggest change is that it's a completely team-based game where 20 teams of three members each fight with each other on one huge map.

There are no pilotable mechs in the game.

Does Apex Legends have seasons and battle passes? It's a free-to-play battle royale that, interestingly, won't let you use the Titan mech suits that make Titanfall so iconic.

But those YouTubers, Influences and journalists who have had time with the game last week will likely be under embargo until much later this evening too. Those items will include both "exclusive seasonal cosmetics" as well as the loot box-style Apex Packs - but no Legends.

Apex Legends hasn't even been available for 24 hours yet, but it's already managed to smash past one million unique users.

I think we've demonstrated with our previous games that we care about having an ethical, transparent relationship with the consumer. However, they're not cheap, with some of the skins costing $18 to buy outright.

While Respawn has posted job ads pertaining to what we assumed is for Titanfall 3, and Titanfall 2 fared very well critically (currently at 89 on Metacritic), it seems we won't be getting Titanfall 3 anytime soon.

Respawn has said the number of total players may increase over time.
