Nantes Demand Payment From Cardiff City For Emiliano Sala

This comes just days after wreckage from the plane carrying Cardiff City footballer was discovered in the English Channel with a body which is yet recovered.

But upon returning to Wales, he went missing flying across the English channel.

French football club Nantes have reportedly threatened legal action against Cardiff City over the £15 million transfer fee for Emiliano Sala.

After a prolonged search, wreckage from Sala's plane was spotted last weekend and the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) have undertaken an investigation into the cause of the crash, as well as examining the logistics involved in raising the aircraft from its position 67m beneath the surface.

However, due to poor weather conditions the wreckage of the plane has not been recovered and the operation has been brought to a close.

"The operation was carried out in as dignified a way as possible and the families were kept informed of progress". However, the AAIB says that video from a remote underwater vehicle "is expected to provide valuable evidence for our safety investigation".

"We expect our next update to be an interim report, which we intend to publish within one month of the accident occurring".

The 28-year-old was on his way back to Cardiff from Nantes after saying his goodbyes to his old team-mates in France.

The remains of the aircraft were tracked down by a team co-ordinated by ocean scientist David Mearns, who has located some of the most elusive wrecks in the world.

According to Sky Sports News, Cardiff have not yet paid any of the £15m fee agreed for the Argentine striker.
