The Grizzlies are still pushing hard to move both Conley and Marc Gasol as they are now planning to rebuild the team. But, Conley is reluctant to play for Utah, according to the Times.

The Grizzlies have been open to trading Gasol and star guard Mike Conley for a few weeks now. And it remains unclear if the Pacers will keep them, meaning more moves for them are possible.

Valanciunas was having a solid start to the season before getting hurt, averaging 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

He made two moves just prior to the 2017 deadline, acquring Serge Ibaka from the Orlando Magic and P.J. Tucker from the Phoenix Suns. Lowry told reporters at Wells Fargo Center after the game that he hasn't asked for a trade and that he wants to stay in Toronto to help the team win a championship.

Valanciunas has been out since mid-December with a thumb injury but was going to make his return Thursday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Philadelphia 76ers were dominated in a home loss to Toronto on Tuesday, and that likely was an impetus for the 76ers to go out and trade for the Los Angeles Clippers' best player in forward Tobias Harris.

Charlotte Hornets veteran point guard Tony Parker spent the majority of his career with the San Antonio Spurs, and he will now don a different team's jersey for the first time during his long National Basketball Association career when he takes the court for the Hornets this upcoming season. "But there is no replacing what Marc has done here, and what he's meant to this team". Then the Grizzlies announced January 6 that Chandler Parsons would continue rehab in Los Angeles after reports both sides had agreed to a split.

It's just the latest off-court drama for a franchise involved in a failed three-team trade in December over confusion about which Brooks (MarShon or Dillon) was included in the deal. Apparently, the Grizzlies view Conley as someone who can serve as a mentor for precocious big man Jaren Jackson Jr.
