LeBron James trades Russell Westbrook to Giannis Antetokounmpo for Ben Simmons

His Los Angeles Lakers were unable to swing a deal for Davis, but James drafted the New Orleans Pelicans star on Thursday when he and fellow captain Giannis Antetokounmpo sat down to choose their teams for the February 17 All-Star Game in Charlotte.

After LeBron picked Pelicans' Anthony Davis as his first reserve teammate, Giannis coyly asked the King, "Isn't that tampering?"

Antetokounmpo asked James, "Isn't that tampering?" What's more, LeBron seems to be using this All-Star game to "tamper" a bit more considering the players he chose for his squad are all eligible (excluding AD) for free agency at the end of the season. I think it's going to be random.

LeBron James forms a formidable looking crew for the 2019 All-Star Game.

Then, to spite James, Antetokounmpo picked Ben Simmons.

It's also unclear how James drafted his team as the National Basketball Association didn't yet televise the event.

James then added close friend Dwyane Wade with the NBA's "special selection" in the draft, which was televised this year for the first time. Barkley, while sitting in the studio, had the ideal way for Antetokounmpo to make a trade for Davis. "I'm going with my buddy, Dwyane Wade".

Antetokounmpo said he took George for one reason: "He had a huge dunk on me", Antetokounmpo said, tipping his cap to the slam that the Thunder star threw down last month. Last year wasn't televised, but fortunately, this year was, after James himself said it should be.

"F-- no", Westbrook replied, while Embiid said of his nemesis, "I don't know why he was mad". Doing it live was not feasible since James and the Lakers were playing Thursday night in Boston. James and Curry were the captains a year ago, but the order of their picks were not revealed or aired. You can tell the trade rumors are getting to the team's young guys, especially with the effort they put forth in IN last game.

Damian Lillard found out last week that he had made his fourth All-Star team.
