He has won 10 of his 11 games in charge while also accumulating 25 out of 27 points, pushing them back into a top four finish.

French World Cup victor Paul Pogba and striker Marcus Rashford have led the way and Tuchel believes the handicap facing PSG at Old Trafford for Tuesday night's first leg is the equivalent of United losing both players.

"I don't think there's any real reason to rush it and make that announcement today. In matches like these, decisive Champions League games, you absolutely need your key men as they are experienced in handling pressure in matches like this one".

"He has wonderful qualities, he can do a lot of things, extremely strong, with the ball at his feet, he's very good and very strong in challenges and one on ones, taking people on he's always capable of making a difference and I think in my opinion he's always risky offensively with Martial, they're a very unsafe pairing".

"We've got a coach with a different approach and we are trying to do what he's asking us", said Martial.

"We started with a rather negative result at Anfield, and then we raised our level in the competition when we had to show everyone our ability and strength". [I've] got a lot of respect for PSG, [I've got a] lot of friends too.

"We were in extremely good shape at the end of the group stage".

"It's certainly an advantage (playing at home second), but first and foremost you have to focus on the first leg".

But head coach Tuchel does not want the 20-year-old to alter his game to compensate for the absence of his usual attacking partners.

Both Neymar and Edinson Cavani are ruled out with injury so Kylian Mbappe could be supported by former United winger Angel Di Maria and ex-Stoke forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in attack.

Tuchel is particularly wary of the threat posed by Pogba and Anthony Martial, who between them scored all three goals in United's 3-0 Premier League victory over Fulham on Saturday.

"Old Trafford is the temple of a great team with a very important history", Buffon said.

"But it gives other players a chance and maybe they are more unpredictable for us with who they are going to play".

"There is a little bit of hope, though, because there is always hope".
