Police Confirm Death Of Preethi Reddy's Boyfriend In Tamworth Car Crash

Preethi's vehicle was located parked on Strachan Street, Kingsford, about 9:30 pm on Tuesday.

Police suspect that the dentist, Preethi Reddy, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend who could not cope with the prospect of her breaking up with him.

The last images police have of Dr Reddy showed her at McDonald's on George Street in Sydney's CBD at around 2.15am on Sunday.

According to the police report, she and a "man known to her" stayed at a hotel in Market Street in Sydney's CBD on Sunday.

It's understood Dr Reddy worked at Glenbrook Dental Surgery in the lower Blue Mountains.

Narde died after his BMW auto collided with a truck on the New England Highway on Monday night, a day after his ex-girlfriend was reported missing, New South Wales Police (NSW) said. CNN referred to the man as "suspect".

The body of 32-year-old Preethi Reddy has been found in a suitcase.

Mr Narde, a 34-year-old dentist from Tamworth, was interviewed as part of the missing person's investigation after detectives discovered that they spent Sunday night together.

Concerned family and friends contacted police when she didn't return home on Sunday after a dentist convention in the city.

Police had been searching for the western Sydney woman since her family reported her missing on Sunday. Officers believe that she left the fast-food chain alone. After she went missing her family put up a Facebook page titled "Help find Preethi Reddy".

The head-on collision, around 340 kilometres from where Reddy's body was found, is believed to have been deliberate, they said.

"On behalf of my family, I want to thank anyone who shared our appeals to find her, and those who provided information to the police and us over the last few days".

Dr Reddy told Narde she had "moved on" and meant to "start a new life" with her new boyfriend, according to a police source.

"I told them I might notice the vehicle before".

"At this stage we know they met up in Sydney and now we're looking at all the movements between these two", Detective Superintendent Gavin Dengate said.

SMH reports that police confirmed Reddy's ex-boyfriend has died following a auto accident near Tamworth, shortly after speaking with detectives regarding Reddy's disappearance on Sunday.

Preethi's disappearance is "out of character" and there are serious concerns over her welfare, a New South Wales (NSW) Police spokeswoman said.
