DeSean Jackson posts farewell message to Buccaneers fans

Jackson finished with 41 catches for 774 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games last season.

It appeared as if the Bucs wanted to keep DeSean Jackson just last week, but those rumors came to an abrupt end today when he was traded to the Eagles.

The Eagles are bringing DeSean Jackson back to Philadelphia in hopes that he'll give them the vertical threat that their offense has been missing.

Monday marked the start of the period before the beginning of the new league year in which teams are permitted to negotiate with potential free agents.

Jackson has over 10,000 career receiving yards and 53 receiving touchdowns.

Following his release from the Eagles, Jackson spent three seasons with the Washington Redskins.

Left tackle Jason Peters has agreed to a pay cut that will keep him with the Eagles in 2019.

Mortensen also reports that Jackson will receive $13 million in guaranteed money due to the restructure of his contract. Following the exchange, Jackson did not play in the Buccaneers' next three games.

That's less than Jackson would have made under his old contract with the Jaguars.

He was voted to three Pro Bowls during his six-year tenure with the Eagles.

While Tampa is seeking compensation in return for Jackson the week of free agency, this is usually a precursor to a player being released, and this looks like the likely conclusion of the Jackson saga as well.
