Kensington Palace officials said in a statement that Harry and Meghan "look forward" to sharing the news of their baby's birth once they have had a chance to celebrate as a new family.

(Reporters do expect to be informed when the duchess is in labor.) As a royals fan, am I low-key sad we won't immediately get a photo of Baby Sussex?

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, say they have made a decision to keep plans around their baby's arrival private.

The 65-year-old media mogul thinks the former "Suits" actress - who was known as Meghan Markle before her marriage to Prince Harry - has been portrayed unfairly.

"Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private", the statement said.

According to reports earlier this year, Meghan was considering delivering at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, near the couple's new home at Frogmore Cottage.

This marks a break from the customary royal baby introduction to the world that Kate Middleton has done for her three children-Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis-and that Prince Harry's mom Princess Diana did for her two children.

Basically, this means we won't be receiving a play-by-play from the palace on social media - we won't know which hospital she's chosen (though they've reportedly considered a home birth) and we won't receive the announcement mere hours after the birth in question (more like days).

It has also been reported the couple have picked their own medical team to directly oversee the arrival of the Queen's latest great grandchild - dispensing with senior medical staff associated with the royal family.

Winfrey's longtime pal, Gayle King - who attended Markle's intimate and star-studded baby shower in New York City - also chimed in, telling the television host, "She's very kind, she doesn't seem to buy into [her bad press] though". Now, an update from Buckingham Palace reveals Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are grateful for the goodwill but will share updates when they are ready.

Harry and Meghan announced their engagement on November 17, 2017.

"It is a huge responsibility to get this right as we bring you the facts, the science and the awareness of a subject that is so relevant during these times".
