Tesla Model 3 Standard Range arrives soon at $35,000 and 220 miles. In Germany, Tesla is charging a base price of 44,500 euros (plus a handling fee of 980 euros) for this version, which offers a WLTP range of 415 km. While still available for purchase, phone and in-person sales give Tesla sales reps an opportunity to up-sell buyers. Leasing options were also provided for the newest Tesla. It will be a software-limited version of the Standard Plus, with 10-percent lower range, no heated seats, disabled music streaming and other downgrades. A Standard Range Plus Model 3 without any options nets a $504 per month payment for 36 months, 10,000 miles, and $3,000 down.

The change to the Model 3 pricing options is part of a move by Tesla to simplify its lineup.

So how much does a Tesla Model 3 really cost?

The Tesla Model 3 actually starts at $53,700 in Canada and $39,500 in the United States for the Standard Range Plus.

Tesla's $35,000 Model 3 is no longer available for order online. Because of this, Tesla chose to take the $35,000 model off the menu and offer it on the side for those who really wanted it. Simplicity appears to be the name of the game, all the while making things slightly more confusing for those who want to spend the bare minimum to get a Tesla. That means if customers change their minds, they can upgrade to a $39,500 Standard Plus model any time by paying the the difference and getting an over-the-air software update. "Because most Tesla buyers opt to pay extra for all the high-tech features, this likely won't have a huge impact on Model 3 sales, however, it does deliver another tough blow to the company's reputation". A longer range and additional features will be switched on in the $39,500 auto, known as the Standard Plus model. "We're making these changes to ensure that our online order process is focused exclusively on the three Model 3 variants customers want most". The Ride Hailing service from Tesla, when launched, is expected to be one of the world's first taxi services with fully automatic electric cars. These prices are what Tesla estimates the vehicle will really cost after incentives and gas savings.

The Model 3 Standard Range is the only Model 3 variant to escape a price hike, as well.
